Kathy Alma Peterson

I have been a poet and painter most of my life. My process is similar for both painting and writing: I begin with a gesture or phrase, then begin a conversation with the work. As it develops, I impose elements and principles of composition, color, and shapes on the work, always weighing what the painting presents. Revising, experimenting and playing are involved. I work in a few different styles, preferring abstract constructed from imagination.
